These days it is totally unnecessary for you to put yourself through the pain and embarrassment of hanging out in clubs and bars trying to pick up women. Chances are you don’t dance very well and drinks are expensive. And exactly how many drinks have you bought for women that shoot you down?
The new way of picking up women is through social networking websites and online dating sites. It is quick, easy, highly effective and you don’t even have to leave your couch until you get that first date. How’s that for a lazy man’s way for picking up women?
The problem that most guys run into is that they lack skills when it comes to communicating with women through email, text and instant messaging. This is really unfortunate because these methods should allow you to take your time, come up with some really killer things to say and ultimately build massive rapport with women. But here are a few tips that should help you to find more success with women online.
Keep The Pace – Nothing comes off more needy and creepy than a guy who floods an endless stream of messages one after the other to a girl before she has the opportunity to respond. Try to keep pace with her and don’t overdo it. If she stops replying to you for a minute or two don’t freak out. She might have had to go to the bathroom but she doesn’t know you well enough to tell you this.
As a general rule you should wait ten seconds of so after receiving her message before replying back. If you are using instant messaging try to remember that many instant messaging programs have that neat little feature where she can see if you are typing something… and then backspacing. Think about what you’re going to write for a few seconds…which brings us to…
Spelling – Not that long ago it was almost in vogue to know internet shorthand. Times have chanced though and these days you are judged on not only your spelling but punctuation. This is one of the rare cases where paying attention in high school language arts is finally going to pay off!
Avoid internet shorthand. Things such as “ru there” or “cu lata” are probably not going to cut it with an intelligent, attractive women. Likewise, know the different between there, their and they’re and when each is to be used as well as “then” and “than”. If you’re text messaging she might cut you a little bit of slack when it comes to apostrophes.
Think – Think about what you’re going to write to her. Try to be witty and clever. If you are feeling more comfortable and you feel that she can take it pick on her a little bit. If she is particularly hot she may not be used to guys busting on her. By doing so she may feel that you are feeling more comfortable with her and that you’re fun.
Likewise, think before you type but don’t type what you’re thinking. You might be tempted to tell her that she is beautiful or hot or all sorts of things that you probably would never say to her if you were standing face to face. If she’s hot she has guys hitting on her every day telling her how hot she is. She probably has guys propositioning her every day too. It might be tempting to “go there” but it might be a dead end road that could kill any chance that you ever had with her if you do.
Keep It Short – She isn’t going to want to spend ten minutes reading your three paragraph message nor does she want to wait for you to type it out. Keep your messages short but sweet. This is supposed to be fun, after all. If you have a story to tell break it down into a few sentences if possible or word your sentences in a way that allows her to ask questions if she is interested in hearing more of your story. A sort sentence like “The craziest thing happened Saturday afternoon”, then the next sentence “I came home and found a squirrel had gotten into the house!” If she wants to hear more she will ask.
Focus On Her – People in general like to talk about themselves. Women, in particular, love to talk about themselves. Focus on her and ask her questions. Don’t try to impress her. Get to know her by asking her questions and focusing upon her and what interests her.
Although this is not an authoritative list of the do’s and don’ts of texting or instant messaging women these tips should help you find more success if you follow them closely. With some practice and understanding you can easily and quickly create just as much of a connection with a woman using instant messenger and text messages as you would sitting down beside her at a bar… maybe even more so by working online.
